Today has been gorgeous. I’ve been out in the park with Con this morning. For a walk with Edith this p.m. & tonight on my wheel to Davis’s & Baker’s At the latter place were Mary, Nellie, Edith & Miss

terrible disaster in Hoboken yesterday. The No. German Lloyd piers burned - with 3 steamships- 100 to 200 lives lost and millions in money & property. July 4. 1900. (Wed) I was going to play golf this morn– ing at ten, but about 7 it began to pour - a most delightful rain, which lasted much of the forenoon. I made a patch work (silk) block for Mrs. Davis' quilt (Frank's Xmas present) Edith came up while we were at dinner & we rode over to Mary's & all 3 took the car to “Ide’s Lane
- and spent the afternoon at the YWCA “Home” on our favorite veranda in the hammocks & playing croquet with Hamilton Davis. Staid to supper (very good) but left immediately afterward.
