Dec. 24. Sunday. This last week I have been enjoying (?) a fine cold. Have done some odds & ends of shop- ping &c. Last night distributed the last of my Xmas things, taking some up to Lura's – with the camera. JG & JW gave me some nice books, as usual - one of them “In Bohemia with Du Maurier.” Today it poured all the morning – so Mama wouldn’t let me go to church & made me bundle up well when I went to Lura’s at 4 with Edith. By that time it was snowing & blowing some. Had two big baskets to carry besides what I took yesterday – Mary & Nellie were in the car, and when we got there, had to wait about half an hour for Chat & Helen & their mother, before we attacked the table full of presents (see illustrations “Before” and “after.”) It was awfully good fun. We all got lots of things and even Frank gave us a each a box of candy (I got my other box from my Frank same as always - last night!) Mama had handker- chiefs for each, with a poem on every one - and I had a few – I gave Edith heliotrope ladys cloth for a waist, marked
