I walked up to Davis’s with my picture to “Entertain Hamilton” and Frank’s Miss Mackey & another guest. I came away about nine, Hamilton with me. Nothing has happened since, except that I have my new coat and skirt & made over silk waist – very swell! Nov.27 Sunday A gorgeous day – after last night's blizzard. The ground covered with snow & the sun out & the air crisp and frosty – I spent the morning reading “The Lady of the Aristook” – Edith was up before church and Con after dinner. He coaxed me up to Highland Park & it was lovely in the setting sunlight, with the lovely valley & the lovlier hills and the still lovlier sky & little purple clouds & the city windows glowing & the air so sweet – I stopped in at church, where I sat with Edith while the organ played & sweet voices sang & later I finished my book & read one of Kipling's best and wrote two letters – We had a call from Emily Beardsley Waldron last week – she has 4 children! & Jessie
