all day. We took the car up and after supper read again till late. Sept. 11. Monday. A beautiful day - and circus day. Viewed the *1000000 procession "free" from the window (with J.G.) and Claude & Wm took pictures of it. Ned came up to tease me to go tonight with her & Harry
& Edith & Frank D & Ida Watts & Freddy & Ella &c. but last year quite finished me on the circus question. I ripped up my challi
dress at the evening while Papa read aloud "Tent on the Beach"

 came & bade me goodbye. They are going to "Sacred Heart" school. Sept. 12. Tuesday. to Sept. 15 Friday An uneventful pleasant time - not very busy an occasional half-hour with Will - talking about N.Y. - a call or two from Ned and some fun with Gilmore - and evenings I made a pretty new waist - with velvet collar & cuffs, from my challi
skirt - quite a thing for me - while Papa read aloud - Emerson & Thackery (Ad- ventures of Philip) Got some slippers. etc. Also went up to Dake's for phosphate once or twice. Sept. 16 Saturday Wore my new waist to-day & it was much admired. Had a nice little visit with J.G. this p.m. Such a queer day - sun & rain & snow, & growing very cold. Met Ned, Mae & Edith at 5. & did a little shopping. Then went down to
