of Salem & tho' it was very cold I enjoyed it hugely. There was blue gray sky & lanky trees with winter sunshine on them opposite then a yellow drag all full of Union folks & red flags & flowers & scarf & then a row of enthusiastic students. Then the field - green with a clu layer of snow sprinkled among it and the picturesque bare headed players with mud- colored bodies & red or black
