and then into the Manufacturers - where we looked at more photo- graphs (American) of Marie Burroughs, Willard, &c. &c. & the Century &c. again for Ned's benefit. Went into one of the Gov't Bldg. galleries & back into the Manf galleries (Catholic schools, glass, gloves, machines &c.) & then met Claude & Charella at Baker's and drank chocolate Ned went for lunch. Went over to Festival Hall - which is beautifully planned - they say like a Greek Theatre - & spent a delightful hour listening to Thomas' orchestra of 114 - a fine concert. Saw JG & "Anna" & later J.W. also Ned & Will - opposite us. Joined them afterwards. Went to the photograph place and bought one of MacMonnie's fountain & had a talk with Lew Jones. Then Charella went home & Ned & Will too (soon after) & Claude & I went down the Plaisance to the Animal Show. The most thrilling thing! A fierce lion riding a poor timid horse and a woman's eye only to keep him from tearing things to pieces. Pigs doing tricks
