Sept. 9. Saturday Gilmore's (30th?) birthday. He came in - cross this a.m. but pleasant enough to "guy" my new shirt waist this p.m. I went up to the Library a little while at noon. J.W. came back this p.m. & "squoze my hand". Klem said I made him blush with my greeting - but I doubt it. Claude went photographing houses &c. The girls all came up this evening & Freddy, Ned, Edith, Claude, Papa, Mama & I played two games of anagrams. I beat both - with Ned & Freddy as zero. Then I fussed with blue prints & read. Sept. 10 Sunday. Pleasant. We got up betimes & went to church, Mama & I. All the brides were there. Then came down and did cash acct & wrote and read in the hammock after dinner. Luther Foote came over and brought his sister's baby, Jerome Page. It got quite cool and I put on a thicker dress and about 5:30 Claude and I walked down to Edith's & made a short call. Ned had gone to her Aunt's, Edith invited me to go to the circus tomorrow - with a crowd. She said the elephants &c had been passing.
