they went a-riding. Ned came for
me and we "got a phiz" & coming down the hill passed Dorothy
Morton - much to Ned's joy.
In fact, later she rode down in the
Charlotte car with her. We sat on
the steps after supper & Ned &
Edith came up and brought me a
nice little rustic basket from Mr. Hodges - & his
love. They told us all about the Point
& we had a real jolly evening. Walked to the car with the girls.
Aug. 3. Thursday
Another, lovely day. Gertrude walked down with me this a.m. & we
met Ned just coming out of my
office - so G. walked back with her
and this afternoon she went home. Got a phiz again with Ned tonight and looked at Edith's negatives which are very good
for the first trial. She got a fine one of Ned. I was extremely tired after
reading in the hammock awhile went to bed (about 8:20)
Aug 4. Friday.
Still lovely! Gordon told me this
noon (& Claude to-night) that
Orchard is going to leave the
firm & go to N.Y.
1893.
