long talk with "Billy". He asked to go to the wedding "and to supper" with me tonight. Washed & dressed when I got home. Had some lemonade & cake & about 5:30 Claude, Will & I started - by street car. Mr. Humphrey got in at the 4 corners & walked up with us. Everybody was "just coming", got my hat off & flowers fixed & Mae Carpenter (in bright pink crepe - Empire) talked to me & then I went down with all these men, & introduced them to Mrs. Wray and Ella & we got out in the other room (the rooms were lovely - smilax - banks of roses on mantels - palms &c) & found Edith, Freddy & Ned - or rather Helen in the Elegance & "young - ladyish" of her attire. The girls all looked re- markably well - I haven't made up my mind yet about "how I like Helen so". Mr. Humphrey assured me that he should never have recognized her in the world - I had to point her out to him - almost at his elbow!
