&c.&c. (By the way, Mr. Green told ClaudeDella Fox had married Atwood, the Arch't!) We
came out and sat in a Loge a long time - eating candy which Mr. Hillman brought me and watch-
ing the boys cutting upon the stage &c.&c. Finally Mrs. Allen & Charella &
Daisy Beach came and we got seats upstairs (all but
D.B.)
Mrs. A. told us about the dancers
(After helping "make up" 49 of them!) & gave me a rose & the boys
crysan- themums and we had a good time. I had quite a talk with
Mr. Hill- man and find him very nice. I've
decided that he is really hand- some too. The dances were good and
the game of whist very interest- ing. The aces looked lovely and
Sam Hamilton made a fine joker. Afterwards we sat in a box
and watched them waltz. Mrs. Allen
waltzed with the Jack of Hearts (Mr. Low) to whom she
intro- duced us & who sat with us awhile. She has a new "Gibson-
esque" cloak & looks perfectly ravishing
