Was glad enough to really get to Rochester at last & dear Papa and Mama met me and took me home on a car and I talked and showed them things & they talked & liked [illegible] - and the pretty new sitting room carpet was down and Mama had a new mahogany ("Miss M.") desk chair from Claude - &c.&c.&c. March 24 Friday. A lovely spring day! Papa and Mama heard a robin this morning. Will Orchard and I waited awhile in the hall for the elevator & had quite a chat. Klem & Miss R. were delighted with their hat pins & Klemmy kissed me twice for hers. J.G. and Warren were nice to me and Gilmore has gone to Concord to his grandmother's funeral My Venus came from N.Y. & was lovely - only - her head was broken off!
