rough & so cold we couldn't stay in long, but I got the "science" of the swim all right & got along so well that Mr. Willard kept letting go of me (he did once or twice yesterday), and I didn't get entirely ducked once - but I'm a little too "panic-y" yet. We came in & rubbed down and dressed up a little & let our hair hang and hour or so (I put a hair pin in mine during dinner). It dried much better than before - tho' Mr. Willard insisted on laughing at us while I was out in the stone seat combing the snarls out of mine it began to sprinkle & did by spasms all the afternoon. We played "Word Making" and "Anagrams" &c. After awhile the Lake looked quite calm and it didn't really rain, so Mr. W. & Mate & I (the boat wouldn't hold move
