just in time for supper & lay in the hammock till lunch after
dark. Spend a good deal of time in our new hammock - and it is
quite lovely. Wrote the rest of the evening. Ate a cake & drank cherry
phosphate punch waves.
July. 9. Sunday
A lovely day. Stayed home all day reading "Teis" etc.
and being more or less lazy - cut out scraps in the afternoon. and
then lay in the hammock till about seven, when Mama proposed and going over to Nina's - which we did and had quite a visit - Auntie came while we were there - and
Ted - in my
made- over dress and a new white hat look- ing very nicely indeed.
We stayed till quite late and then came back to find that Ned and Edith had been
here. Had a late - and good - supper. Quite cool.
July 10th. Monday
A lovely day - perfectly magnificent -
J.G. & J.W. went away early - to drive. In the evening I went
over to Louise Bradstreet's and had
quite a visit -
Bessie Smith was there. Had quite a nice time - and
some cherries and orange phosphate - and they saw me on the car. A
cool night.
