nine o'clock. I found a letter from N.E.D.
at noon I went up to Sibley's
about
Mama's bonnet and found an awfully
swell "London E.C."-made hat - plain and very "swagger" - which I bought
for everyday. Edith thinks my best
one is "the most becoming one I ever had". Coming home I saw a dear
little girl run over by a delivery wagon. Found out afterwards that
probably she was not very seriously hurt - but it broke me up
awfully! After supper Claude went to
Panjandrum (!) and Papa, Mama and I called
at Crosby's on
Gorham St. Their niece is there - Miss
Houston of Pa.
Had quite pleasant call - Mrs. C.
was sick. The air was so nice we walked up to
Central Ave.
Went into the station to see if it was nearly time for the
Exposition Flyer, but it wasn't. Read
"Philip". Klem started for
Chicago.
Oct. 11. Wed.
Another lovely day. Fixed J.G.'s
foreign photographs this p.m. Marjorie came up and we had quite a spooney time at the
fence - Papa G. looking on &
laughing - also marshmallows. Went up to the B.R & P. station to
see Edith off for the country.
