Deaf Mute Institute, so I stayed down to Sibley's to dinner and then went up to the Library & read. Ned came at noon & again at night and took me over for phosphate. We brought tickets off Gilmore & I took Mama & Ned took Mamma Nourse (we stopped for them) to a "Musical & Military" entertain- ment at his church, when Marjorie
sang and Delsartianism was "exposed" and "Uncle Eo" made charcoal sketches. It lasted quite late June 24 Saturday A beautiful Day. About 4. p.m. Edith & Ned came up & told me they had de- cided to go the Lake instead of South Park (as we intended) so I told Mr. Cutler & he said I'd "better call it a day" we just caught a Charlotte car - quite hilariously. Read the Post-Express on the way down - & "gassed". Sat on the Cottage Hotel porch. awhile. How went over to the Ontario & ate the lunch Edith brought - to band music - had some lemonade & each brought a bag of popcorn & strolled out on the pier and sat there a long time. Eating & talking & observing some children
