running the elevator & said "Isn't that porter going to show us our room?" and just then the porter got off of the lower part of the elevator - looking as if he wanted to smile & showed us a nice room #236 - with bath & over looking the court - folding bed - closet &c. &c. & asked us "if we knew how to use the telephone?" - In consequence if which we used it pro- fusely & immediately ordered "Stationery". That is, after we had each had a nice hot bath & dressed over and had a delicious breakfast in the cafe - hominy - cream - coffee - rolls & luscious steak. When we got ready & sallied forth (dressed for pleasant weather) We found it - sprinkling & before we got home it poured. We went down to 14th Street and bought gloves & a little silver frame for Freddy &c. Then went to Webster's where I got hat pins for Freddy &
