Aug 19. Saturday.
Pleasant. Ned went to
Buffalo
for the day with Frank Davis &
in consequence I had Gilmore's
company to the Matinee - "Fra Diavolo". It was real good.
Mr. Miller was quite a star & got flowers and his "death"
was most thrilling. It is a pretty opera & especially the
"Victoria" song. Gilmore was nice & funny as usual & W.H.O. caught up with us afterward &
walked down
Main St. with us and while
Gilmore went to the train we went up
for letters & then to Whittles for soda (we saw
Mrs. Wilson Soule & Mrs Jen Porter
in there - who had been in a box) & then Wm walked up home
with me Plymouth Ave. way & sat on the steps
until - well for an hour or so. He told me funny stories & we
talked "stage" & also some more serious things. Claude appeared at last - & Mama & then Wm
went home & we had supper &
