Helen Hooker's engagement and flowers she had been
analyzing & how & when and we all talked about lots of
things & Mollie Sharp wanted to kiss me good-bye
and Lilla
gave me a big hug & her kind of a kiss in the hall & told me
Mollie & Laura both said their hap- piest days
had been spent there & they must not break
up - and
Mama was so happy she was coming
back - & Ned and I had a nice
little talk going home together - & I went to bed early & so did
Mama.
July 17. Monday.
Pleasant and hot again. J.G.
was so nice & he & I made a scrap book this p.m. Gilmore
told me about "Bluebeard" at the
"Auditorium" at Eagle Point and
Willie was celebrating the last
day before his vacation. He whistled "After the Ball" a good
deal & broke the water cooler in between.
Ned came for me this p.m. & lugged
me up to Sibley's for claret
