Then got chairs & went down by the electric fountain in front of the Administration, overlooking the water and sat listening to the music and watching the gondolas and the lights & the illumination - a perfect dream - till time to go home. June 7. Wednesday Got up early, breakfasted at 7:45 & went over with Claude, Ned & Will by Ills. Central. We began on the Trans- portation Bldg. saw the trains. Dewitt Clinton, foreign & big engines &c. & the Cunningham exhibit& some bicycles & things - walked thro' the Horticultural Bldg, where Will bought us roses - saw the Japanese dwarf garden and the fountain maze of N.Y. Had lunch in the cafe up in the Horticultural then went down to N.Y. and met Claude (who had left us) & Charella & Edward, saw the Carpenters and Kate Davis &c. Went over to the Art Bldg. with Will & Ned and all thro' the galleries - seeing a good many original black & whites by Gibson, Abbey, Reinhart, Church, & that
