pink bouquet) "squoze" my hand and I rode up in the car with
Effie La Trace.
Oct. 27. Friday.
A rainy horrid day. Tried on my dress at noon. Edith came home to supper with me and we
had quite a good time. She'd been up to
Mae's making neckties. I put her
on the car and then came home and wrote long letters to Frederica & Gertrude.
Oct. 8. Sat.
Did some shopping to-day. Got a cute Japanese screen for my room
at Fahy's. Explored Sibley's new store, etc. In the evening
put bows on slippers and loafed. Papa
came home. I had a headache.
Oct. 29. Sun.
Cloudy, cold & windy but cozy in the home. Got up rather late.
Wrote, read, ate candy & chestnut and such! Didn't go out at
all. The Chapins
called in the late afternoon. Mr. & Mrs. C. and Francis. They told us about their World's Fair &c. (quite like
old times) They had been to Moore's to dinner.
Read N.Y. papers.
Oct. 30 Monday.
Pleasant. Spent the evening helping
Mama get her things ready for
Dansville.
Oct. 31. Tuesday.
Got up early & Papa & Mama went to
Dansville to the Coterie 20th
Anniversary at 8:25.
