1893.
July 24 & July 25. Both pleasant and uneventful days. Busy at the office. Read in the evenings Harpers - "Twelfth Night" & "Her first Appearance" (again). Got letters from Ned & Edith & Frederica. The girls want us to come to the Point so badly. Have rooms in the cottage. July 26 Wednesday Another plesant day. Took a walk up Main St. to-night and had a soda- It was so nice. After supper Claude & I walked over to Mae and John's. "Pricilla" the dog came to meet us. It is a lovely big place with giant trees and lawn. Their room is sweet and "bridey" & pretty and they had a brand new book case filled with their books. John showed us his college picture & smoked & they told us about their wedding trip and when we started to go we must needs see their "china closet" and then the rest of the home. And then sit out under the trees in the moonlight - in hammocks - while John smoked another cigarette or so. Going out we "spoke" Cad a minute - on their front steps. They are going to Homer and then "probly" to the World's Fair.
