St. (quite drabbled
) & in- vited
Beach to dinner - but he had to
do the "lightning change act". Went upstairs and got washed and combed
& fixed so we felt quite good. Then went down to the cafe to
dinner. The music was heard thro' the open work over the ladies'
entrance and the champagne corks were popping & the women had
their diamonds on and looked brilliant & it is a beautiful room.
