We started over at 6:15 but it was dark - and crowded - before we
got off at 23rd St. & walked across to
Broadway & then took a car & had
"chicken sandwiches, tea & coffee" sent up to our room - and
almost ate while dressing
Fred's card came up while we were
at it and I went down first, being ready first and put on my new
gloves in the tapestry hung - & beautiful - "public parlor".
Fred was quite exquisite in
white vest, gloves &c. When
Ned came we went over to Daly's
& had elegant seats in the first row of the balcony. We were a
little late but didn't miss much & Twelfth Night was fine tho' I'm not
in love with Ada Rehan
- she has a
charm.
Orsino was the handsome
Clarke & reminded us a little of
Mae'sJohn. But his blue eyes and black hair reminded me
of someone else - and his little lisp and his direct look - or
"Twelfth Night" Dalys.
1893.
