down for dinner. We took the 6:30 car to Manitou & it was as lovely a ride as ever. Ate lunch there. Walked on the pier and watched a magnificent sunset - golden sky - bright blue lake and a few dark clouds. Took the 8:30 train back & sat on the back platform & watched the dusky landscape. Some people inside had an accordion & sang. Didn't get up home till about 10. Mighty sleepy! Aug. 2. Wednesday Another lovely day. I got a phaeton for Mama & Trude this p.m. and
