little library forming Houghton Mifflin's exhibit & some good book covers. Met "Mr. Perkins" - of Remington's. Went down stairs again & thro' Germany, Austria & France - all fine - magnificent jewels - wrought iron - furniture embroidery, gloves, clothes & stationary. Was entirely charmed with the French bronzes. Left Claude & C & Ed & I tried to get lunch at the Café but there was nothing left but "doughnuts & pie", so I met Ed

& Mrs. Allen with a "Gospel Chariot" & Ed
gave me quite a ride in it while his mother & C. looked at the Chinese carvings. Then we went to the Casino and had a nice lunch and sat in the Peristyle & talked, till Claude took Edward to "Buffalo Bill" and Charella & I went into the Liberal Arts again. Saw the school exhibits, which were very interesting - especially the blind school & their method of writing (sort of a type writer) & reading &c. Saw some interesting photographs of royalty & London beauties, from England & Glasgow - also saw the Cutler Mfg. Co. Exhibit. Then we went over to Van Houten's & Charella
