car with me - and we talked most lovingly &
confidentially - as we used to and as we like each other best.
Ned put me on a car & I got home in
time to go to bed before ten!
March 11. Saturday
I have stopped trying to get down town early. Rather an unevent-
ful day except that Prof. Townsend
called about the World's Fair
busi- ness & Claude & I decided
to engage rooms at the "South Shore". Mama
& I went shopping - a mattress for her bed & several
Sheacler
things. Kitchen still torn up. Wrote &
read.
March 12. Sunday
A rainy Sunday - or at least very cloudy one. Did not go church but
studied up "World's Fair" a
little. Wrote and sat by the parlor window watching the river -
which is very high indeed. Got a letter from Eo - a sweet one - telling of little Ruth's arrival. I tried to take a nap
after dinner, but didn't succeed very well. Read "Meh Lady"
over again. About five I walked over the river with Claude. We went across the aqueduct and the
car with me - and we talked most lovingly &
confidentially - as we used to and as we like each other best.
