Edith and Ned went in the house just ahead of me. They were coming up tonight with Freddy - but made me stay to supper drink Hood's Sarsaparilla, eat cake, try on hats & do other foolish things. Ned gave me the green enamel & gold clover pin (not the one with the diamond) Freddy came and finally we got started (after talking "stage") and walked up ("the back way") leaving Freddy at Josie Gatens. Went to Salter's for flowers & Curran's for Soda & to Lane & Paine's for toilet water and then all took over cars home. Found a note from Charella inviting me to dinner tomorrow but wrote declining, as I promised to go to the Jenkinson with [illegible]. Apr. 9. Sunday Mama & I didn't get up very early. I was unaccountably sleepy all day. Went to church & Sunday School - studied Job. Louise & I talked World's Fair and I promised to come to the Young people's social this week.
