much better this music was than most. The "pair of darling little Rosebuds" danced & sang as usual - and Claude said I took them off very well at sup- per - but he don't know! A storm came up after the thing was over & I had to wait in a store. From Dake's I saw lots of chorus girls come down (some came in for soda water) & Wolff & Wooley & Clara Bolton & (before dinner) Maude Dickson but not the fascinating Dorothy A little Jewess behind me was waiting to see her - "clean gone" & they were talking to Maude Darcey - who had stopped in "Weren't you frightened on the stage?" "No!" - "Never?" - "No, not even at first." "Do you get tired?" - "Well I guess" - "Do you?" - "Yes, but not from acting - only from waiting to go on." "What do you do back there?" "Oh, we sit down when there are chairs, and when there aren't we stand up "_________." Then -
