my new white hat & a bunch of daisies & went to church with
Mama. Children's Day, & beautifully
trimmed, the special exercises are this afternoon. Wrote before a
good dinner - and again afterward. Walked up the Avenue with
Claude, later and crossed over
Goodman St. to see Nellie
Jones, dear child - waiting for me all in white. Of course
I talked blue streaks about the World's Fair and Ned and
"Pa" & Jonesy listened
and she was very pleased at the East Indian vase I bought her and I
reproved myself for the lurking, desire I had to keep it myself.
About six I went over to Rowley St, but Ned had not appeared since last night, so I
talked with
Mamma two hours and we com- pared
notes on various people and things. Didn't get home till most nine. Got my
own lunch.
June 26. Monday
Rained in the night and was cloudyish all day. The
caravels
were at Charlotte, on the way to
the
Fair and everybody went down to
see them - Papa and Mama
