didn't go down with them - tho' they said Edith expected me. On the way home
Emma Curran Smith rapped on
the window for me to come up into her little flat - so I did and
made the acquaintance of
Austin Roger Smith, who is a pretty seven months old
baby. Ate candy & was invited to stay and play cards! with "the
girls" and "my husband". ("We Romanists think its all right to play
cards on Sunday - but I s'pose you don't)
Got home before dark. Read awhile and ate lunch.
Apr. 3. Monday
A very pleasant day. Got a telegram from Ned this morn- ing, saying she'd be home tomorrow
night & let Edith know. So
E. came up at 5 to see me and I
walked part way home with her and was late to supper. At noon went
with Claude,
Charella & Mrs.
Allen to see the M.I. exhibit for the
World's Fair.
Mrs A.
was lovely - with lily of the valley in her coat pocket.
