1893.
Fixed my room with my new book-case - very pretty
an occasional window open! Quite a marvelous Christmas! Got up about 8:30 and after a brief breakfast had our presents on the sitting room table. It was quite fun and took an hour or so. I got Harper's Monthly for a year from Mama, 4 lovely handkerchiefs (all from Mae) Jas. Whitcomb Riley's "Poems Here at Home" Another Thackery Barry Lyndon &c. from Frank and Edward , a lovely vase & an exquisite box of bonbons from Charella, Calendar from Gertrude, "Godey's" journal, street car tickets, etc.etc. hat pin from Edith. After that I washed the breakfast dishes - ironed my organdie dress, washed my silk waist. Ate lunch, read a little. Ate a little candy. Took a bath and dressed in my summer clothes (but lots of them) to go to Frank Bellamy's Xmas party. Claude wore his dress silk too and we got there shortly after six. Rode up with Mrs. Hy. Brewster & Rachel & Mr. Tappan. Those there besides us & Mr. T. Charella & The boys were Mr & Mrs Sunderlin (in brite
green satin & pink) and Louis, Mr & Mrs
