Chicago.
and went out one the beach of Lake Michigan, behind the hotel and sat under some trees a long while talking. Claude's head in my lap & all of us sprawled out. It was pretty warm. Soon after we got back to the hotel Ned's cousin Guy Paine came. He is quite "Chicago" & handsome, tho' not quite tall enough. Looks the least trifle like Ned. A thunder storm came up - & we visited meanwhile - & then all went to the station. Ned & Guy go to their Aunt's & Claude & I to Miss Atkinson's - but I didn't go after all - came back & took a nap & read till Will Wray came to call. Then I went down & we had quite a visit. He was awfully lonesome but assured me he got over it now. After he went I sat on the piazza & an old lady scraped acquaintance with me & I heard all about a family from South Dakota - "Papa" & "Mama" & Vivian. They are to visit in Glens Falls later. Claude came after seven and we had a nice supper & walked down Bond Avenue & back. It is quite nice. Went to bed at 9. Ned came at 11 - after a nice supper!
