up at 5. & wanted me to come up tonight but I felt cold & headachy & miserable & didn't want to. I've a good deal of "That tired feeling" the Spring medicines advertise - this year - more than usual. After sup- per Claude & Mama both went out & I wrote & read, etc. Just before dark I sat up in Claude's room in his big chair on his new rug by the open window & heard the robins sing. It is beautiful Spring now. May 13. Saturday A pleasant day. Ned came up for a chat this morning. She looks so nice in her new blue silk waist white hat. At noon I went up to the Union & saw the "Model Brewery"

is going to the Fair. It makes a barrel of beer a day! Mr. Gilmore got his tickets and we "talked World's Fair". Edith & Mae came up 5. Looked nice & told me about Edith's frolic at Mumford last night. I saw them on their car. Met Ned (& Frank Davis) at Dake's as 8 & went to see Modjeska
in Mary Stuart.
Like it about as well as I expected
