until afternoon. Liked all his presents. I met Ned this morning (as usual) & she threw me some kisses out the window at noon - as I lugged a new black dress (crepe skirt & silk waist from Miss Thomas'. It is real pretty. Saw Frank looking at me thro' the window. Ned & Edith well up in the afternoon. Angry at each other for once - I had same fun trying to "make them up" & I guess they went away better natured. Ned wants to come over tomorrow if it rains - otherwise she's got to go to the Dugway with Wat Gillis! Claude had an article on the World's Fair in the Post Express. Spent the evening sewing a little while Papa read to us - a lovely story by Henry James - "The Middle Years" about how an author unexpectedly attains his cherished aim at the end of his life by the devotion of a young man "Dr. Hugh"
