Mama brought me my Lilla's picture
went over to Behn's (by invitation) and after a "visit with the Family" and a look at a bit of misletoe on the gas fixture &c. &c. proceeded - with numerous other "Kind neighbors" over to the old Quaker church where stood a real German Christmas Tree with candles, toys, flags, stocking, masks, dolls, "Nations of the world surveying it" etc. etc. All elegantly explained by Mrs. B. & her assistants "Pa" - "My Arno" "Jessie" and "My Girls" & "Theo - the Master" - cozy corner - music box - everything lovely. I got away before the rest (before 9) & read "The Virginians & wrote two letters. Dec. 27. Wed. Mr. G. still sick. Shopped at noon. Got letters from Edith & Trudy. Mrs. Jones was here to supper & part of the evening. She looks very well and was as entertaining as always (which is very much so) We talked by the fire till about nine - when she went home. Then I finished "Vol. I" & wrote a little. I think its fine - "The Virginians" - so cute and Sheridan-y!
