in the library An uneventful day. Marjorie came up tonight. Walked up thro' Mr. Olmsted's lovely little Plymouth Park - first time since it was laid out. Read "Ad. of Philip" Oct. 7. Saturday Cloudy and now and then a sprinkle. Edith came up this p.m. & entreated me to come down - to supper on this evening - or tomorrow. We talked & ate candy a long time. J.G. went while she was there. Staid till 5:40 talking to Gilmore about his genealogies & the Yacht race. After supper wrote & read. Oct. 8. Sunday. Rather cloudy, but quite warmish. I was sick all day with a sore throat and fever (cold I guess) Read "Phillip" all the morning Geo. Humphrey was up to see Claude. After dinner we clipped Harpers - both of us.
