of being chilled through, mixed with now a fear that we would - not catch the train & now a- hope that it wouldn't be late. Well, finally we got to Livonia (which has a dozen street lamps & a huddle of lighted store fronts & dark looking streets going in all sorts of directions from the "square") & the station - to pile out & shake ourselves & collect our baggage & pay the driver & see how each other looked by lamp light - and finally to find the train an hour & 20 minutes late! - 9:18 + 1hr.20m = 10:38!. I was chilled thro' (being at the front of the stage so with my back to the wind) and Mama guarded the baggage while Ned went with me up to find a drug store. Most of the lights were out (they must close at 9.) and we heard recitative voices coming out of windows up stairs - in what might be a hall, and remember we have seen "Our Summer Boarders"
