this a.m. and J.G. and J.W. in a private car. Had my lunch at Sibley's and read Kipling's new book, which I bought for Claude. Ned wanted me to go see the Caravels with her tonight, and J.G. suggested it & advised me to and Gilmore was going, so I did. At 5, we took the electric and saw the Santa Maria with the Virgin & gothic panels at the stern & lovely green crosses on the Sails and the 3 cornered Columbus flag & some coats of arms and funny [illegible] & these big anchors like in the convent. The Pinta and the Nina were smaller Editions of the other, and the Spanish sailors - and commanders especially were very much the thing. We gazed at them a few minutes - half an hour in all, perhaps. I saw the Gillis family at the Ontario and came back with an inter- esting load Mrs Pulver & daughter
