the presents that had come. Tomorrow she packs "John brings his baggage down to- night." We went up and saw the presents - which were lovely. Geo. Humphrey gave her a silver chafing dish. Edith & Harry banquet lamp and Ned oval mirror. Has loads of spoons & other silver, cut glass - ferneries (one from Will Orchard) pictures, vases (one - Mr. Gordon) books, table, chair, shawls, screen opera glasses etc.etc.etc. When we came away Ned & Edith walked to the car with me - & kissed me on the fly - we heard it come. Sat & talked to Mama. June 18 Sunday Got up at 9. This was a bright, hot, Sunday to most people, but I kept cool by staying home all day. Wrote till dinner (2:30 or so) then put on my light silk waist & white skirts & sat in a big chair in the yard & read till sun down. I went in and ate some hasty pudding and then wrote most of the evening. June 19. Monday A bright, warm day. Mae's wedding day. J.G. & J.W. didn't come down till afternoon & I really did nothing all day. J.G. let me go at three. Had a
