The rest of us went to Plaisance and Charella made numerous purchases at the Japanese Bazar and we all saw the man in the lion's cage again. Then we saw Charella & Edward to the gate and Claude & I separated for awhile. He went back to Plaisance & had his fortune told and I went into the "Merchant Tailor's Building" which I was told was "very funny" - & it was! Also went in to the Fisheries again, Government and Liberal Arts. Then went out on the balcony of Machinery Hall, and sat a long time watching the boats & people in & around the basin. The "Turner Children" going to the Arena for games, the clouds piling up for rain - etc. etc. Finally Claude came & we ate some popcorn. Then it got cooler and sprinkled & was lateish - so we bade goodbye to the Fair - and went out as we came in first - thro' the Colonnade. When we got back found that Ned had not gone to Chicago. Her sister is coming
