Went into the East India House, where a queer old fellow sold idols & mumbled charms & they had cashmere rugs & carved teak-wood & white draped musicians. The Swedish Bldg. wasn't quite finished but pretty girls sold Swedish candy. Then I went over thro' the "Ship of War" And coming out Will Wray found me & brought me to Ned & we sat a while on the verandah of the Iowa Building, relating experiences, and then went thro' the fisheries - which were most interesting - especially the aquariums & the large fountain with sturgeon &c. in it. Met Emily Decker & her father there. In the Government Bldg. we saw the fish hatching & the Lieut. Greeley expedition relics & scenes & the war uniforms &c. walked thro' the Mang. & finally a guard directed us to the Philadelphia cafe for dinner & it took us about an hour to be served - but we didn't mind. The waiter was quite funny. Went into the Mining & saw the Silver Statue of Ada Rehan (Montana) on its gold pedestal ($250000). Went into the Elec- trical and saw all sorts of queer things
