is through and only waiting for me to come! (That twinkle!) The
boys spent most of their time in the "Street in Cairo"
(10¢) Gave me points.
Ned came up at five thirty. I worked
till after six. Gave Nickie
his picture and he was delighted, Wrote in the evening. After I
had listened to the Mandolin awhile.
June 2. Friday
Another sultry day. Was busy, of course this a.m. Had quite a talk
with
Gilmore about things and at noon went
to the Bank and to Mrs. Wagner's to try on my waist.
(not done) Got my pretty new night dresses. Who should walk in this
P.M. but Billy Orchard! Homesick!
He wanted to stay over and have some fun with us Monday & told
Gilmore he was going to - but lo!
He got homesick & it rained & Gordon
teazed, so he came home with him! Had a long talk with him. He
showed me a silver filligree bracelet he got for her - lovely ($4) and gave me $6.00
and a commission to bring something to him for his niece &
sister & mother!
Klem wants something too - and "Martha
"!
