group & Mary a little one at the same time. We were both in it - as Lura set it off. Decided to have original poems next time - and go in costume. Ned & Edith as "Trilby & little Bitter" Mary & Nellie, "Chimmie Fadden & de Duchess" and Marie & Lura as "Little Lord Fauntleroy & Dearest". &c. &c. Came home in the 11:45 car - very jolly. Nov. 21. Sat. Tired out today. Snowed on the way down (I walked) and began to turn to rain soon after & continued - a cold shivery drizzle all day - I stopped at G & McC's this noon, but took the car both ways - we had the gas logs lit & the steam on & things cheerful inside - while the closed carriages - all shiny with rain - went pounding by all afternoon. Found Ed Nolan & with Claude - cozily over the fire - cigarettes & water colors the theme. Claude gave me "The Cast Aside Songster", which I shall put on the Christmas tree for Mary - Stopped at Ned's, on the way home - for half an hour's chat. This evening wrote, "figgered" & fussed. Nov. 22. Sunday. Up rather late - "scrapped" Harper's Weekly's &c. thro' a.m. and read the Book of Snobs, after dinner, also about the Yale - Princeton game - Score 24-6 in favor of Princeton - good! Theo came in with some Scottsville pictures to show me. After (early) lunch Ned & Rose came & spent the
