Georgia Busby - gotten up - & a young man eating at the Ontario - heard the music at the cottage - which was nicely decorated for the 4th & were positively sleepy when the train arrived. The fare is only 10¢ one way now and they check our wheels. We got off at Brown St. and had a fine ride home. The girls came up to Greig St. with me. Mr. Page was here. Didn't stay long. July 4. Sat. For a wonder, on the Fourth, I didn't wake up till 7 and then went to sleep again till 8:30. We had a late breakfast & I sewed all the morning, up in my room, did lots off odd jobs I've been accumulating. About dinner time it began to pour and continued off & on the rest of the day. The Orphans & the Behns continued their firecrackers, nevertheless. About three I got ready & went down to Edith's stopping at Mary's a minute - she had gone to the matinee. Ned was at Edith's & they were anxious I should stay to supper. We sat up stairs while Ned finish- ed dressing. Edith gave me her picture taken with Henry
& Donald. Then we went up to Elsie's & saw the children - who are very cute. "Harry
" talks about himself in the third person all the while & Donald
has a radiant smile. Elsie gave us some delicious sherbet & cake & we staid half an hour or so. Then we came back & I started immediately for Charella's. Rode up in the car with Mr. Tappan. There were the queerest people waiting about the
