A nice bright day. This morning I tried to make a (bride) cake, but I'm out of practice Claude got ready to move. Gave me one of his Venetian watercolors & Mama one (& a new dollar) I took Mama's picture, and Papa's and later Claude took mine (to use up the last plate) I expected Mary to go to Charlotte's with me but she didn't come. Ned came up, late, & we walked down town & then took the car to Edith's. She was delighted to see us and served sherbet & cake first and then toast & tea. Then we went up stairs & visited awhile. She has a prospect of a "job" at Eastman's Rode up with a crowd of Lake Avenue Baptists. Wrote and read awhile when I got home. Monday Mch. 23rd A busy day. J.G. left the office for good this noon. "Moving" his scissors, pencils &c. I spent most of the afternoon packing things into my desk, & so on, preparatory to tomorrow's migration. It looks desolate enough in the office. This evening Papa read aloud. I sewed. Tuesday March 24 Moving day and a bright and lovely day. Got down at 8:10, but there was a hitch somewhere and my desk hadn't gone. Gilmore hired a cartman & I went leisurely up the hill, stopping to call on Mary & on Klemmy and at the Lyceum. I'm invited to a card party at Lura's Easter Monday. Our office is about settled & I did a good deal this p.m. Home later, with Claude, after stopping with J.G. to look at posters, Claude has had his draughting room papered with them. Read Harper's tonight.
