ate our lunch on the beach. Such a
nice lunch & so much of
it. Lura, Matie
A. & Miss Hutchinson came down on
their wheels & we saw them again over at
Charlotte where we spent the evening.
It was nicest on the "Esplanade", watching the water. The sunset was
beautiful - red as fire. We heard music &c. & saw a sleight
of hand performance at the Cattey Pavilion. Met a good many
people we knew. We came back (in the W.B. side)
about 10:15 and Ned & Freddie under- took to go up & tell
Mama, so I went home with
Charlotte. Mr.Davis was up waiting for us and we
had lunch & went to bed. I slept in Frank's room - as he is at Peekskill
camping.
July 9. Thursday.
It was pouring when I looked out on
Cobb's hill this morning, but stopped
before breakfast. I sat in Frank's
place and Mrs. D. & Chat said funny things as usual. The air was
fresh & cool & sweet & clear when we started down town, but it
turned out a muggy day, after all. Gilmore didn't come in till the late train but I was
busy all day. Walked up with
Mary this noon
& rode back, in the wind. After supper Ned & I rode over to call on
Lilla & Mollie
