with Lizzie, Hattie
and "Hughey" (art 4) by the roaring parlor wood fire - in the open fireplace - so cozy & "comfy" - of course they kept on laughing - Hughey has named his pigs "Saturday" and "Henry" and "Monday" and the horse "Polly Star-Twinkle"! He was making "soda water" of the alcohol & water in Lizzie's tea - table kettle. We had a nice supper at which Hughey was in- dulged by his grandfather &c. and then Lizzie & I had a nice visit together. She told me all about her N.Y. visits & the fun she had going to a Bohemian restaurant with Bessie Steams
, Bob Morrehead and Jack Stearns
last winter. Also lots of other things - a little after 8 She, Hattie
& I walked down town in the most gorgeous of moonlight nights. Got the mail & papers &c. & finally I left them at the door - carrying home blocks of wood from the new store "to set plant on"! Mama & the Andrews came home from Coterie after Mrs. D & I had had a visit, and then we had cider & apples & the Gallaghers called. Oct. 20 Tuesday A little more brightness this a.m. but not much. Mama & I called on Auntie Dem in her rooms in the old house - & heard a letter from Sue. Then I went down town with Mary
