fluttering here and there and everywhere. Mrs. Day elected to lie under the trees while we climbed the hill and the rest of us started off. I rested on a large rock near the top, where I could look for away to all the Kennebunks Ogunquit, Baldhead, Passaconoway Inn, the Yorks, The Boone Island (Just a bit of white breakers) Isles of Shoals - &c - &c. way down Portsmouth way. From the top (after I had taken a "group" at the look- out tower & other pictures) and over on the western side, we could see a good share of New Hampshire. The Blue Mt. range & in the dim distance, the White. It was really very fine & delightful. We staid on the top a good while - "viewing" eating berries, talking &c. When the rest had gone, by prearrangement I staid behind with Wiltsie & climbed the Lookout tower and saw the marvellous view on all sides of me. We strolled down together & had a nice chat. He put us in our carriage first, supplied
