came up and we went down to Mary's to see their
Valentines - loads of them. Mary
had from Nellie, Smith-Perkins window blue curtain &
all - with a typewriter film inside - real funny. Then the "panorama"
of Williamsport, Rochester,
Scottsville &c. That I helped Matie make over very funny and would take
almost a page of description. She had 7 from Ned (!) and Nellie had a
lot of funny ones - 4 "men" among them
Emma got several, too - real good ones.
I walked down to the corner with Ned -
half- intending to go to Edith's
but it was so late I didn't, as we expected Claude from N.Y.
He came - with his after - dinner - plate
President's medal (fine!) and his catalogue- cover design
& poster
& Faversham's picture for me & some
funny little "kintescope" pictures for Frank
. We had supper and "talked
N.Y." & then I read.
Feb.22. Mon.
His Royal Birthday - Washington's - We put out our flag
first thing, but it began to storm later. I was busy half a day -
got tickets for the girls for tonight, and walked up with Emma & Edith- greeting Ned as we
passed by. This p.m. my head ached - but I read
Kipling's "Under the Deodars" & wrote. I
helped entertain Frieda - who "called"
served. Got dressed before supper and afterwards stopped for
Mary & we went to see Jno.
Hare in "Caste".
