Nice & cool today. Lunched with Ned & Edith
at Harned's and we talked
"picnic" - which Edith
is getting up. Took the car over to Charlotte's after supper, but met her & Mrs. D. coming to the Salvation
Army meeting and rode back with them. They told me about
Kate & Helen's life. Later I did
anagrams (Mama & I
are after a $500 prize !)
July 7. Tuesday
Got down early this morning - to get J.G. off for Buz- zard's Bay. Rode
over with Claude & he got a
puncture on Court St. It rained hard this a.m.
after J.G. left & after telephoning
we postponed the picnic till tomorrow - tho it turned out to be a
beautiful evening, but cold & breezy. Met Ned, going home & she made me go back to her room
with her - where I staid half an hour & was late to supper. This
evening Freddie, Edith & Ned were
all up here & staid quite late. I went partway down with them &
rode back on my wheel.
Freddie has invited us own Saturday to tea
&c.
July 8. Wed.
Went right home this noon and put up a dozen lettuce sandwiches
& got ready. Mama
took Frieda's cats picture and I took
Crump's &
Willie's at the office, later. Stopped
for Mary at 5 & we met
Edith & Emma & Freddie & Ned &
got the 5:20 car to Windsor Beach - a nice
ride. We strolled around and rested & talked to Mrs.
Arnold till Charlotte came
